I got my first blue badge 2 weeks ago. I filled in the form (with the help of my physio as I was worried about over or understating my disability), the council then contacted my GP to verify my diagnosis. Once the application was approved I had to pay an admin cost of £20 to the local council - to be honest, judging by the benefits I’ve experienced already, it was well worth the money…

Having read your post Carrie it makes me wonder where in the country you live. I have just re-read the letter I received and it definately said it would go up to £10.I live in the south of England.

That probably explains the difference in the cost. Just like the prescription charges we have to pay for them whereas in Scotland you don’t. So they get you either way!!!
