Diagnosed yesterday (04/11/25)

So I was diagnosed yesterday with Primary Progressive MS.

I am neuro divergent - I have Autistic Spectrum and ADHD, I also have Graves disease and MoDY (Mature onset Diabetes Young).

Thought it would be a good idea to join the forum :upside_down_face:

Hi and welcome @jenny.tootell sorry to hear that about your recent diagnosis and also all those other health issues you have. Surely more than anyone deserves or should have to cope with? Wishing you well on your ms journey and hopefully it’ll be a slow progression and not something fast and furious.

Hi Jenny,

Welcome to the forum. I’m new here too and also autistic.

It’s a lot to process isn’t it?

Do you know what the next steps are?

Give yourself time.

best wishes

Alison

Next steps for me are management and mitigation - Trying to swim regularly, look at taking up Pilates, doing my physio exercise when I receive them, weekly cardio. Being less stubborn about using my stick when I need to, using my stick properly.

I am being introduced to the MS Nurse team who I gather I will be interacting with fairly regularly and the next MRI, assuming the MS Nurse team doesn’t feel it needs to be brought forward is planned for August 2026.

I have decided to look into getting a cleaner/home help because my husband had a pretty hefty back op back in 2015 and there are things he doesn’t have the physicality to do at all that I am realising wear me out, so taking the stress of those jobs off me can only help….

It sounds like you have a good plan in place

I have a cleaner too. It’s too much for me to keep on top of

Jenny, you have a lot to deal with, don’t you? I am sorry that you have an MS dx to add to your collection. I am sorry that you have had this bad news to handle and hope that you’re coping OK.
