Well day 5 of steroids , 500mg a day for five days , my eyesight is off , really uncomfortable and blurry , I feel very anxious and edgy , very wired , shaky , and my head is “in the shed” is this normal ? Does anybody else feel shaky and anxious on the steroids , I see lots of people commenting on the nasty side effects but none say what they experience or why they don’t want to take them . I feel so off its ridiculous , I was put on steroids for various symptoms that had been progressing for weeks but I feel worse on them .
I had exactly the same symptons and treatment as yourself two weeks ago.The premedication tests were ok but a day after finishing the steroids i suffered a heart attack and was in hospital four days.I will definitely be questioning the Cardiac specialist at this mornings meeting about being prescribed them again.Andy.

I have told this experience before so apologies to those who have heard it before…I was only once given the high dose Steroid treatment, I felt great the whole week of taking them, all my symptoms either improved or disappeared altogether. The day after my last dose I crashed badly all my symptoms coming back only to a much higher degree. I was off work for nine months and if I’m honest I probably shouldn’t have gone back. I struggled daily and my last three years working were not good, mentally, physically and emotionally. That was my last relapse, I am now considered SP so probably wouldn’t be offered such a high dose again but if I was I would politely decline.
Im told that years ago they would wean people off Steroids but it isn’t considered necessary now.

Sorry I should had added that my rapid decline might have happened regardless of the Steroids. We will never know, neither will we know if the Steroids help because remission may have happened on it own.
