My uncle is on avonex, He was in very bad shape ; he could barely walk anymore and did not expect to go home. He has been taking for about two months now colloidal silver and he has improved a lot. He went home today
I know that there is a lot of different opinions about the colloidal silver, but for him it helped, a lot.
He wants to stop taking AVONEX. Has anybody of you taken this medecine and then stopped it and if so what was your experience? I would not like him to relapse of course.
Colloidal Silver - is a pure/natural anti-viral/anti-biotic that kills far more bacteria then normal anti-biotics without distroying your good/friendly bacteria that protects us. lt can be used externally and taken internally - [especially for uti’s] The spray type can be used for sinusitis. So pleased it has helped your uncle - and l hope he continues to improve now he is home.
Know nothing about Avonex. Having never taken dmd’s.
The problem with RRMS (well, it’s not a problem really, but only when evaluating treatments) is that most episodes do improve by themselves after a time. So it’s notoriously hard to tell whether any improvement is because of something you did or took, or would have happened anyway.
It’s quite possible your uncle might have improved naturally after several weeks, even if he did not take colloidal silver, because that is one of the characteristics of the disease.
I have never taken anything special for a relapse - including prescription medication, which would usually be steroids. But still, so far, I have always got better in the end. Maybe not quite as well as before it happened, but still a big improvement - and that’s without doing anything.
I too cannot comment on Avonex, except to say that if it doesn’t seem to be working well enough, your uncle may well be offered something else anyway. He should discuss his feelings about Avonex with his neuro or MS nurse, as they may agree it’s not doing any good. However, it doesn’t claim to stop ALL relapses, so they may think just one is not reason to give up yet. It would also depend how long he had been taking it before this latest episode. If he had only just started, then it might not have had enough time to work. I gather it takes weeks or maybe even months to get to maximum effectiveness, so it wouldn’t protect immediately, from the first injection. So if he’d only been on it a short while, they might want to wait before any decision about switching.
