CHRONICI iNSOMNIA

Im seriously need some help here.

I have struggled for years with poor sleep. I was on Zopiclone for a very long time, which did help, but it got to the point that I was taking so many, they stopped working, when I decided to stop taking them I had a fit and ended up in A&E and lost my licence for 6 months.

I have got my licence back, but now I am surviving on 2-3 hours sleep a night, then having to go to work and do an 8 hour shift… its taking its toll on me.

I read before I try and go to sleep but I just lie there… awake and getting anxious and upset because I just cant sleep.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help me ? I am going to have to go to the doctors next week to get some more medication to help me sleep. I dont want to take tablets again in case I end up in the same situation again

Any suggestions chaps ?

Hi…

I had this quite a few years ago…I was sooo tired but could not sleep…I had blood tests and they found out that I was VERY anaemic. I was put on a few iron tablets a day and that soon sorted me out.

I am taking amiptrtyline (sorry if not spelt correct) and find that thats quite good, it helps me sleep.

Take care,

Wendyx

Hi Fairy Dust

I do feel your pain. I too suffer with this. I have tried all sorts of things over the years but I find that it’s due to an overactive mind and if you can’t click off then that is it really. I did take ‘night all’ years ago but found they made me grumpy and feel funny the next day. I did find though that when I left a job I hated and got a bad friend out of my life I slept much much better. I was also on anti-depressants at the time so I believe they helped as well. So maybe see if there are any changes you can make in your life and mabe think of a low dose course of either anti depressants or anxiety tablets you may find they work better than sleeping pills. It’s best to get to the route of the cause.

good luck, I do hope you get this sorted.
