Brabio auto-injectors

Hi all,

For those of you who were previously on Copaxone, I’m guessing that you, like myself, have now moved over to using Brabio.

As I’m a bit of a wuss (!!) with injections I use an auto injector but am finding the ones that are now supplied with Brabio are very poorly manufactured as I have now got through around 4 of these in the 3 months that I’ve been on Brabio whereas on the Copaxone I only seem to recall having 2 for the entire 3-4+ years I was on it.

Have any of you had a similar problem with the auto injectors or have just been very unfortunate with the ones that I’ve been sent?

Hi. I totally agree with you and was very relieved to see your post.

I have only had my injector pen for approx 2 months and it won’t fire properly, if at all.

Having read your post, I will request a new one.

yes let the manufacturer know. a design fault ought to be able to be easily sorted. the pharmacutical companies make money from our delightful meds, so let them know!!

Hi, anyone have any hints or tips for soothing the injection sites using Brabio since November ?? I end up with large red rash on the area, lumps & itching!!

Hi, I find an ice pack straight after injection helps prevent lumps and eases the intense sting. I also take an anti histamine daily as nurse suggested this might lessen the itching and it definitely seems to help.

I hope this helps

In response to OPs query, I haven’t had any problems so far with my auto injector (touch wood) 6 months 3 x a week with no failures.

Hi to everyone who has to use this Brabio injector pen. I started using it when they decided to change it from Copaxon. I never had any problem with that but after a couple of times the Brabio pen would not work. So I went back to the Copaxon pen it does the same thing. A couple of weeks ago it sadly gave up. I rang for another but they could only supply the Brabio auto- injector pen. Again I had the same problem so Lloyds Home Pharmacy on 22/06/20 I rang again another one was sent. I even went online to follow the instructions this time it worked. Can’t say I’m happy using this and I did think if it happens again I shall contact my Neurologist to say I won’t do it anymore if their going to continue to use this brand. Not helping the NHS if they have to keep sending more out in the hope that they’ll work. Thought that was the idea of changing to this brand to save money…
