awaiting for lp result after mri showed much scarring on brain, been told could be possibly ms
have had numbness in right hand two numb toes on left foot.
restless legs at night. constant numb lips and burning sensation on cheeks
left arm doesn’t really swing when walking
prickly feeling on arms and legs now and again
does anyone recognise these symptoms

yes i recognise those symptoms.
with the scarring on your mri i think the LP is just ticking boxes.
hang in there, you’ll cope fine whatever the outcome.
it’s odd when you’ve been waiting in limbo and you look forward to a diagnosis because that is what i did.

Yes, they could be MS symptoms, but your neurologist is checking with an LP as it’s still possible that it’s something else, not MS. The trouble is that MS does share a lot of symptoms with other neurological disorders.
So don’t count on an MS diagnosis till you’re actually told it is.
I do hope you’ve not got long to wait though. It’s hell being in a limbo of not being diagnosed yet having a load of symptoms that could be part of a crappy thing like MS.
Sometimes getting an actual diagnosis of MS is almost a relief. At least then you can get access to some decent drugs to help with the symptoms and hopefully disease modifying drugs (DMDs) to prevent future relapses.
Best of luck with the LP. Make sure you stay laying down for a good long while after. Have a search for lumbar puncture in the search box to read about people experiences. Some of them are horrible, the important thing is to stay laying down to prevent side effects. Personally, I didn’t get any nasty side effects, it’s just an unpleasant experience having a needle in your spine.

Last couple of days been getting weird feeling on side of body around waist area, could this be another symptom.also have had a toothache on and of for the last 2 years , dentist says nothing wrong with tooth, now says it could be a nerve problem,may be another symptom.
