Hi all - has anyone who uses Avonex been advised on whether it’s safe to take antibiotics at the same time? I’ve just been prescribed (penicillin-based) antibiotics for a skin infection. I was going to ask my MS nurse as my GP’s knowledge of DMDs is very limited to say the least - but have been trying all day to get through without any success. Have also called Biogen’s medical helpline but they said they couldn’t advise on specific drug interactions. Not sure where to go next - am keen to start the antibiotics but am also due for an Avonex injection today, so feeling a bit stuck! Thanks in advance if anyone can help.
Just a thought, I’m not on Avonex, but most drugs have patient information leaflets which list any drugs which you shouldn’t take with them.
