Atypical rrms or seronegative nmo

Hi about a year ago I developed a eye problems over the course of the eek my eyes had rapidly progressed and everything was just a cloud or fog. At the same time they had ordered MRIs and found MRIs on my C4/5 an old c3 lesion and questionable old C6 lesion. However they then diagnosed me with transverse myelitis and optic neuritis . A few months later I felt weak in my limbs and had tremor and also lhermitts sign. Note 10 years prior I was diagnosed with ADEM as a child with complete recovery. A year later my eyes have recovered however the colour is diminished my legs are weak from time to time and fee pulsations everywhere on my body lhermitts has disappeared. However a few months ago they did a lumbar puncture and did not find any oligoclonal bands and also no aquporoin or mog antibodies. So they are in limbo and have diagnosed me with rrms atyipcal ms or seronegative nmo

Hi I ve just been through the diagnosis stage of my condition and have been reading up on many different conditions…because many conditions look similar in symptom to others. My neuro tested me for NMO/Devics, as well as many other things. I am no medical doctor but am wondering about your diagnosis of RRMS and NMO. I guess the atypical part means your neuro is not sure about the MS. From what Ive learned NMO, also known as Devics disease, is NOT MS, but a condition which affects the eyes and mobility. There is a specific test for NMO, an antibody which can be found on a blood test. Ill have to look up seronegative NMO. Your sounding like me…very hard to diagnose.

Just been reading about seronegative and seropositive NMO…it talks about treating with steroids with some good and some not so good results. For those with negative results, a plasma exchange was performed and the patient re-gained his mobility. Is this news to you? Sounds amazing.
