At the hospital audiology department today

I started using a hearing aid in my right ear last spring as I’d noticed I’m a bit deaf. I got a referral to the Audiology Dept at my local hospital via my GP. I was told that I had some hearing loss in my right ear and a slight hearing loss in my left ear, and that a hearing aid in the right ear would help. I was 62 then, so I wasn’t unduly surprised as I know about age-related hearing loss. So many people have said to me ‘oh yes, I’ve got a bit deaf with age, I should get a hearing aid’. They don’t though!

I had a hearing test again today as I have noticed a hearing deterioration in my left ear. The test showed that the right ear has improved slightly but the left ear has deteriorated - a bit more than he would have expected in a year since the last test. He thinks a second hearing aid would be a good idea so I’ll be getting one. I mentioned that I have MS but of course it might not be anything to do with it.

Just saying in case anyone else has experienced this…
