to be fair we have MS opening a box of cereal can be confusing and challenging.
the confusion is simple they are running with 2 lists. my doctor rang me on tuesday to ask how i was copiing was i ok did i need anything yet according to gov list and template i wont be getting a letter but she obviously was prompted to ring me.
we are vulnerable list according to the NHS list i have, BUT WE ARE NOT AT HIGHER RISK of catching the disease, that is the thing. someone on immune suppresed drugs etc would be at higher risk. mind you when you read the list a lot of these people i kind of thank the lord i dont have any of their issues.
NHS need to stop putting out lists after lists, because reading on here even the staff are confused.
the upshot is to get a priority delivery slot so you can get your shopping even if you are housebound etc and disabled you are not considered at a high risk of getting it, and therefore those slots available will go to the HIGHER RISK group.
remember the nature of our beast is not reading things properly and getting confused easily. you can put lists up as long as you like, its for me the same as looking for an item in my handbag five times, and finally seeing it on the 6th.
Just seen that poor lady on news with MS in a w/c she was so distressed poor thing she cant get a food shop online shes no food in house and has a young son with bad asthma shes having to send out for food i am still crying over it i wish i knew where she lived i would take her some of my food.Shes not on the high risk list even though shes in w/c with her MS.Heartbreaking i hope somone nearby helps her.
Looks like Sainsburys has added the over 70ās back onto the list of those who can get deliveries and not just the super vulnerable. MS sufferers still canāt get deliveries unless you are in the Super Vulnerable list.
I wonāt take the chance of getting it, as I know off somebody with underlying health issues which I would put in our classification who caught the virus and ended up on a ventilator. The NHS declared her ānot for resuscitationā due to her health problems. She fortunately survived without crashing though sheās still in hospital and very ill.
I am not here trying to frighten you, but is staying indoors not worth your life? There are healthy people dying! How at risk we are of catching this virus is less important than how poorly it can make you. I know I left a urine infection over a weekend as I didnāt want to bother the busy weekend service and landed up in hospital for a week on a drip as it traveled to my kidneys by Monday morning.
Iām sorry, I never meant to rant but consoling my friend while his cousin was so ill with this virus and not for resuscitation while being quite young was very difficult as I wondered what the decision would be if I got sick. Please donāt take risks folks.
its sad, BUT be warned, its attacking the young now. My friend has a son whos school friend is 34 and a marathon runner he is in hospital in ICU you on a ventilator with this virus. NO ONE IS SAFE. YOUNG people must not be complacent which they are being. this virus is a respiratory virus and likes lungs doesnt seem to matter if they are healthy or not.
so we must ALL be sensible and follow the guidelines.
some people are NUTS. on a dog walking group this women was complaining as she couldnt drive to her favorite walking spot and was really angry about it. I said are you NUTS. let the dog pee in your garden. have you no clue you cant drive out unless its URGENT shopping, meds, not to go for a walk up a common.
the old biddy next to me is 78 and is going out everyday i know she is and is catching a train just to get out. I mean seriously.
i have park right outside and i watched people yesterday with their dogs just stood close to each other chatting SERIOUSLY.
i despair really i do. i have a dog, we just play in my little patch no one is near us. i just throw the ball for her we are both safe that way.
and she still gets a walk.
Yesterday i had to take the wheelchair and go to the front its not far from my front door but i had to put rubbish out, residents were just milling around talking to each other some are working, so i want straight back to my flat quicker then that as i would have been very close to them to get passed. NUTS. JUST NUTS.
Totally agree, theres still some people out and about acting like nothing has changed .
Our oven broke down a few days ago so out of curiosity I put an ad on one of those āTradeā sites asking for a price to come out and repair the oven, never in a million years did I think I would get a reply !!!
So far in 48hrs Iāve had 12 replies offering to come to our home and take on the job, not 1 single person mentioned the current situation or asked about any vulnerable people presently at home, they are all just treating a home call out as a normal work day.
I just cant understand peoples attitude towards it.Some get it milder than others but WHO knows who that is going to be? my daughter thinks she will not get it and that its all being blown out of proportion.I am on my knees trying to convince her to not take risks, shes still going out to work and has a severely autistic child to look after.I have been asking since it all began to not go into work, she does not have to because of her child being vulnerable but sheās choosing to.Its going to kill me the stress of her being like this.
Hi everyone i was just reading posts and reassured to find everyone else as puzzled as me. Mortality rates of corona virus are about 70% in males i think and ms can be more progressive in males leading to greater disability. Iām not a man and also havenāt had a letter so if you were gonna predicted who needs to protect themselves the most and it was between me and a man. Whenever we get flu and coldās he gets very ill. I get horrible fatigue etc but he will be sicker higher temp usually at the same time so I have to look after him too. (he hasnāt got ms ). We both had swine flu but that was a few yearsbefore my ms. Xxx
My town is quieter last week. I have no where to walk tho and i just use garden as everyone has taken to the streets in an effort to to get their daily walk. Loads of new faces and dogs. Itās like a load of strangers have come to town.
The bigger supermarket and handy shop are the same chain so theirs no choice only a little bit of white bread some days. we rely on the market but theyāve stopped it.,I canāt see the police wanting to stop people heading out to bigger towns. Especially vulnerable people because you only want to go out once but which shop do u choose that will be stocked. and will you be allowed in early and how far do you travel? I buy all my shopping on line but they stopped it because of my age.
Itās like going out on safari! My vision is poor and have to stand right back to read labels with glasses I could do with opera glasses. Iām buying blind cos I canāt find familiar stuff. And I donāt know the geography of the place.
I was wondering if anyone in the shop can help. But your meant to avoid every body.
Any ideas.? Or tips from the wise? Itās like a relapse going out everything seems so weird!
