Any others have these early symptoms?

Hi all, I’m waiting on my first neurology appt and just wanted to share my symptoms in case others have been through similar? I am increasingly unsteady on my feet and I really take my time on uneven surfaces and stairs. My feet feel like they are slightly ‘buzzing’ but not as intense as pins and needles. My eyes are also randomly blurry. Recent optician check showed nothing and prescription ok but this doesn’t help my balance! I seem to defocus sometimes, tho can see clearly at other times. I’m also tired all the time! Any information would be so gratefully received. Thank you x

Hi there. Those weren’t my first symptoms ( I had optic neuritis and lost just about all vision in my right eye within the space of a week or so ). It’s horrible waiting for a diagnosis of whatever the problem. My sympathies to you on that . Wish I could offer tips and advice on how to deal with the wait but all I can say is try to occupy yourself doing things you enjoy and ‘be patient’ ( very difficult I know )

Hi, weird sensations (all on left side) were the first symptom(s) I was really aware of - there were symptoms over the years before that which were written off as other stuff, bad eyesight in left eye, too many late nights, being clumsy - nothing lasted long enough to trigger a trip to the GP until 2013, when weird numbness/pins & needles arrived and decided to stay, since then balance issues have kicked in, I use a walking stick which is preferable to randomly face planting in public.

Its good you have a neuro appt lined up; keep a diary of your symptoms - what, when, how long etc. and also have a list of questions you would like to ask them. If you can get someone to go along for moral support (and note taking) it would be good, the first appt. goes by in a flash and it can be difficult to remember questions to ask/answers-info the neuro gives.

Break tasks up into smaller chunks with rests between to help with the tiredness, and be kind to yourself.
