Any advice please?

Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I was advised to come here and have a look around by someone who I know has MS. I have some symptoms and was just wondering what peoples thoughts are as to how similar they are are to MS symptoms… (I am booked in to see a neurologist).

Firstly I would say over the last year I have been to my doctors with chest pain a few times now and tiredness, when it happens I feel an intense pressure and tightening of my chest and am usually crying because it hurts so much, my doctor said it was anxiety and left it at that.

Then in the beginning of this year I noticed pains in my left thigh, felt like burning, crawling type of pain - I then noticed after a few weeks that the area on my thigh was numb like I had had numbing cream applied to it yet it was still quite painful. The pain has started to subside after 3 months but the numbess has remained.

Then last week I started getting the same pains, burning and crawling feeling in my right forearm with accompanying numbness. Its the opposite side of my body but the feeling is so similar.

I also feel like i’m losing the plot a bit - becoming quite forgetful etc, really annoying my husband as I keep going 'errm… ’ to say something and then I lose it and just cant remember what I was going to say, really frustrating.

I am looking forward to my appointment with the neurologist so that I can hopefully find some kind of resolution for this whatever it is but just wondered if anyone else has has similar symptoms?

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to reply

Hiya,

Your tightness in the chest sounds like the ‘MS Hug,’ see What is the MS hug? | MS Trust

GPs probable only deal with 6-8 patients with possible MS their entire career; so most don’t know much about it.

Your thoughts on seeing a neurologist is right; but sorry to say it’s just the beginning. This will explain the diagnosis procedure and tests, mult-sclerosis.org

Good luck

George

Thanks for the reply and the links George, I’ll have a read
