Advice would be much appreciated

Hi i wondered if anyone could offer me some advice , I have been having problems with my neck moving it etc for about 3 weeks , i fell a few weeks ago in the street and have been getting problems on my right side ,numbness in arm and hand since yesterday and my daughter has said for a while i seem to talk and miss out words( not sure what that’s about lol) am not actually aware that iam doing it . I also have been having blurred vision for a while where i can t seem to get clear vision unless i blink .

Any ideas would be much appreciated x

Iam sorry iam not really good at explaining myself .

Sounds like you need to see your GP and/or call your MS nurse asap (sorry, I can’t remember if you’re diagnosed or not). It would be worth seeing an optician too - your blurred vision may be something straightforward, but best not to take any chances. Please get on the phone first thing tomorrow. Karen x

Hi Rizzo

No iam not diagnosed ,something has been going on for years ,saw nuro ,he wasnt really interested but had a mri on spine and cervical spine both normal ( he took radiographers word for it no need to look he said ) , he discharged me , was admitted to hospital in oct with severe back pain and incontinence . I have a herniated disk and still having test for recouring bouts of incontinence. Got referred to muskeletal team for assesment after a brief talk she said all your problems are nurological and it looks like ive been pushed from pillar to post for years, so she has referred me to a new hospital for a complete assesment which i will be having on the 29th may .heres hoping someone listens to me there .

Thanks for your reply .

Update still having the numbness on right side and numbness in feet too now and jaw pain , my foot jerked and knocked over a drink earlier also when walking feet feel like jelly , getting quite scared as went onto nhs direct which says go hospital , iam scared to go .

Best to go really. You never know, they might have a superdishy, super efficient young neuro on who will take one look at you and work it all out! Back in the real world(!), the worst thing that can happen is that you sit around for ages and then they send you home, but at least then you will know there’s nothing urgent or scary going on. Let us know how you get on? Kx

If there is a superdishy, super efficient young neuro can you let us know where he is hiding!

Another update , didnt go A&E last night .Still numbness on my right side walking slow and discoloured hand and arm , (cold to the touch ) Saw doc at walk in centre, who sent me to A & E but not the closest one but the one where ive been referred to , anyway they thought i was having a TIA so got examined and doc said no TIA luckily but i need to see a nurologist so said i was seeing one on 29th he is also gonna write to the nurologist too , apparetly i was referred by a top physio who i saw back in march ( didnt even know she was a physio lol ) so hopefully iam on the right track . Also i must get my eyes tested so have a app today so fingers crossed .

PS the doc was very dishy ( never saw nurologist ) lol

Had my eyes tested they look healthy , i just need glasses .

Glad you got some good news about your eyes and that whatever’s going on, it can wait for your neuro appointment (must be a relief!). I hope whoever you see can help. You’ve probably used up your dishy doc quota mind you  Kx

Yeah rizzo i think you are right lol, Iam kinda edging on the side that it’s not MS now purely as my eye exam was normal . Will just have to wait ,A&E doc told me to write symptoms down and hand it to the nuro when i see them .There is a MS specialist at the hosptital that iam going to so iam hoping it can quickly get ruled out .

Thank you so much to everyone for being there and listening to me and my symptoms will keep you all updated .

PS Good luck to everyone in limboland and good health to all x

Update Was taken to hospital yesterday ,had a CT scan of brain last night and was admitted . 2 different doctors wanted me to have a seperate MRI this morning and see nuero team , A new doctor came examined me and discharged me saying he doesnt know whats wrong with me but he would refer me to the neuro i saw last year who wasnt a nice person. On my discharge letter he has put exactly what the neuro had said (literally its all in my head sort of thing ) .

Ct scan shows no intracranial bleed or space -occupying lesions. No midline shift or hydroccephalus is seen . Calcified Falx present .

they have noted i have subjective reduced sensation on the right side .

Ct was normal and my bloods were remarkable ( apparently )

Diagnoses : possible functional neurological disease but unclear . ( wonder if thats a step in the right direction ) .

I have my blood results here .I wondered if anyone could tell me if there is anything that i should be looking for? Like raised levels or anything like that .

Hopefully iam going in right direction

x
