Where to live in the UK?

Well I will just throw it in that I think Southampton General are aces!

I’m in Devon and we’ve got an excellent MS Centre in Exeter.

The midlands has good ms nurses and neurologisists! (: well Leicestershire (:

Hi,If you decide to live in Leeds and are unfortunate enough to ever suffer from optic neuritis (which I so hope you never do), then I can highly recommend that you DO NOT attend St James’s Hospital A&E or eye casualty departments. You are likely to be seen by either trainee doctors or doctors that are not specialised in this at all and therefore do not know what is wrong and therefore do not give you the correct medication of steroids (I now know my symptoms were exact text book symptoms of optic nueritis yet they still didn’t know what it was/how to treat me) . I didn’t get the steroids until 5 weeks later when I saw the consultant who said I should have had them as soon as it started (instead I was given antibiotics, nasal sprays & told to take paracetamol, sudafed & iboprofen by these trainee/non specialist doctors). Even though I kept going back as my eyesight got worse, I kept having to see these trainees/non specialised doctors each time. I now realise I could have paid to see the specialist consultant at a private hospital within a day - I wish so much I had done that and not relied on the NHS.

One golden rule you need to remember is, If you dont ask you dont get. Especially when there is cost involved. You have to find out for yourself through lots of research. When there is no cost to any department the information is readily available. All this is based on my own experience. As to where to live, it is your choice only.

There are no referrals made to Shropshire. Hopeless
