I am unofficialy diagnised by ms nurses, Im seeing Dr Nicholas on 27th sept.
Currently, im in a ‘relapse’, my symptoms are : numbness to whole right side, unbearable pain, tingling, cronic fatigue & confusion, i have no tollerence of anyone, even my kids, which i know is making me a complete ‘bitch’!
I went into hospital today for my 1st bout of iv steroids,(2nd time in 2 months) another 2 to go…i went down like this last wednesday, i seem to be a liitle more numb/in pain every day, im so scared by the weekend i wont be able to walk, yet i feel i am just left to deal with this by myself, none of the professionals seem to be fased by it…apart from issueing me stronger pain killers
i know its ms…just want a diagnosis so i can get on ‘proper’ treatment, its getting me so down and feel if this is ‘it’ thats the end of me, i have a fab job and 5 amazing boys, but cant live like this
I am sorry you are feeling like this. Its just not fair is it? We are left with crippling symptoms and the doctors take their time to diagnose us. I understand that it is hard to diagnose MS, but we just want to know what is wrong, and what they are going to do about it.
At some point relapses go into remission, but during the relapse I reckon every one of us thinks the worst That means that it’s really important to try and hang on the thought and belief that “it WILL end!” After all, it has before, so it will again.
I hope the steroids start to make a difference very soon and that your remission is just around the corner.
I have another ‘symptom’ now…like a tightening around my stomach/chest, not painful, but noticable, where i touch its numb, (my right boob doesnt seem to exist!!) is this an ms sign or could it be the steroids??
Hi tracy I was diagnosed in june and have had all the symptoms u describe! I currently have the band sensation you have too and all i can say is as long as its bareable you will get through this. I take long walks and fresh air and being outdoors really clear my mind and help with the band and i dont feel the numbness when i walk! Xx
Hi Tracy if it’s of any help to you Dr Nicholas is a fantastic consultant and he will listen to all your symptoms and he does take everything seriously. If it wasnt for him I wouldn’t be as far along with investigations as I am now! He’s the consultant that actually took things seriously and he wasn’t messing about and got things done. I can’t sing his praises enough he’s been fantastic to me and I hope he is the same with you xx
