Hey, im new here and really struggling with my treatment (tecfidera). Ive recently been started on this as my previous treatment wasnt strong enough. Ive got a few of the standard side affects, flushing, upset stomach and terrible itching but none of these are the problem. Ive started swelling up, my rings are getting tight and when kneeling down its clear theres more leg than there was before lol. A few people have also mentioned my face swelling. I dont think im allergic, ive had reactions from things before and it happens very soon after taking the whatever it is im allergic to. This seems to be more of a long term issue, the swelling seems to just be there all the time. Has anyone had anything like this?

That’s not a side effect I’ve had. Is it in the list of known side effects then? You’re probably best off speaking to your MS nurse or neuro, to see what they say about it.

I’ve started a new pack of Tec, so checked the info sheet for side effects. It did say swelling could be a sign of an allergic reaction, and says to stop taking it and seek medical advice. So if you haven’t already, call your MS team, or the pharmacist at the hospital who do the prescription for you.
