Hi, I’ve recently been diagnosed with MS an I just want to know how you deal? I still go to work, but showing that I’m not in pain is so hard. No one truly understands what is happening to me. It’s new an scary to me as well.
When I was officially diagnosed I immediately gave up work. My health was my priority, not someone else and their wealth. I researched benefits and what I was entitled to. It’s a frustrating process but the end result is worthwhile. I thought I would be bored not working but it’s quite the opposite. Got myself a Blue Badge. Remember, if you don’t ask you don’t get. Good luck.
Good morning T.
Everybody`s MS journey is so different. If you are quite well and not too fatigued, then continuing to work is good.
For me, MS came on quite quickly once it had got a grip of me. I went on the sick for 8 months, as was falling every day and so worn out…and upset too…I didnt know what the future would hold, like you. I retired on ill health grounds aged 47. That was 21 years ago!
Getting a diagnosis of a chronic incurable condition like MS, is very scary. It takes time to sink in and then sometimes it can surprise you, if different symptoms occur.
As long as you get good rest and a support team that understands around you, then you can still enjoy a god life with MS.
Take care.
