Orkney is on my bucket list, before my legs give way ,however hubby goes up there to work sometimes , he looks after the creamery and says the flights are too expensive so looking for an alternative mode of transport

Ferry from John O Groats, catamaran from Gills Bay just along from John O Groats and large ferry from Scrabster (thurso) all good options. Not sure where you are coming from but flights to Inverness not bad and then bus up north. Well worth a trip, beautiful place.
