Newly diagnosed

hi there, I have just been diagnosed with PPMS, to be honest I am really scared having been fit and healthy all my life. I am now 57 and only started to feel ill last year and the speed it has happened has really scared me. Waiting for an appointment with an MS nurse. How does it usually work when a person has been diagnosed all help appreciated

hello mr worry im not diagnosed so cant help but maybe trying putting this same post in the everyyday living part of the forum too, it seems a bit busier on there

Hi Mr Worry. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Do you have the contact details of your local MS nurse?

If not, on the tabs at the top of this page is ‘Near Me’. Press this and then choose ‘specialists’ from the left drop down menu. The type in your area or post code. This will bring up the name of MS neurologists and MS nurses in your area and phone numbers, email addresses. It’s a good start to get their name and it might not be out of date.

Hi. This site is a really good source of information. If you feel up to it go through the various tabs as there are loads f short video clips. I found it a great help when I was diagnosed last year at age 54. There is also a free phone help line number if you want to speak to someone. If I can ever be of help please feel free to message me. I know it is a scary time for you.
