Newly diagnosed and asymptomatic - Should I take meds?

Hello everyone,
After a small accident in the pool, I had a Ct scan and MRIs done which showed white lesions on brain and one in spine. I also had a positive CSF. I was diagnosed with MS by the neurologist though it would seem I am asymptomatic (for now). I was told I have two options. Either wait to repeat the MRI in 6 months and take it from there or start medication now (either avonex or tecfidera). I am not sure what to do. I have 3 young children and generally very fit and healthy. I’ve been working from home the last year or so but there is frequent travelling with my job (in Europe).
Am I taking a big risk by waiting as my luck might run out or will I be burdening my body (and compromising my immune system) by jumping into medication when it is not yet necessary?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated. I want to apologise to anyone who finds my post insensitive - I know I am lucky to be in this predicament.

Hi Chris, You’d have to go some to offend many people here. Asymptomatic sounds great, long may it continue. If you have a firm (?) diagnosis, you need to discuss medication that might prevent damage which could lead to problems further on. I was diagnosed in the “wait and see” era and regret missing the chance to delay oncoming issues.
Good luck
Mick

You are right, thanks a lot.
