MS?

Hoping to get some opinions if what i have been going through may be MS. My symptoms started in 2015 and i went to the Dr. they did all blood tests and vitamin levels only thing that showed was low on vitamin D (been taking supplements since then). They have ruled out RA, Lyme, Lupus and everything else. In 2016 i was sent for an MRI on my lower back where they saw herniated discs and said that is it, go to physical therapy, so I did 6 months of physical therapy and it did not resolve. I just figured if GP and Rheumy think that is just the back then i just deal with it even though my gut tells me its more and i was not even having back pain.

2015: started with my foot felt like it was burning when i walked for weeks and my right leg muscle felt weak. I would have to stop halfway up the stairs and stop a second. Next started getting Electric Shocks up my left ankle. Few months later started with restless Leg really bad at night.

2016: Went to Gp and Rheumy and did the lower back MRI and stated it was a herniated disc - went to 6 months physical therapy. When doing physical therapy my legs would go spastic and never gain strength back. The restless leg did go away. I then started feeling tired and had a low grade fever for 3 weeks the only symptom was extreme fatigue and pain/weakness in my arm. They rechecked blood work for Lyme, Thyroid, Epsteinbar, Mono and all clear.

Next my left hand 2 fingers were going numb but it would only last an hour and then resolved on its own (happened twice)

2017: Started feeling as if my food was getting stuck, i would wind up coughing and throwing up from gag reflex (this lasted 3 weeks and went away) Later that year i felt as if i had a bladder infection, I had to constantly go to the bathroom as if my bladder was not emptying but it did not burn or hurt. went to the dr and there was no infection, when it did not go away after 2 weeks Dr did an ultra sound of bladder and everything was fine. Eventually just resolved.

During this time i have always still had leg issue, strange muscle spasms etc

2018: had pain in my sternum after showering a few times like the muscles were ripping together (pain was intense) then after a few minutes it would just disappear.

Later that year i woke up and at first thought i had bronchitis like a pressure in my chest, started getting worse throughout day and swore it was a heart attack and went to hospital, it was not, followed up with a cardiologist and everything was clear.

2019: Arm weakness/pain simple thing like carrying laundry felt like a chore. Also not sure how to describe but my hands feel like they are over grabbing like if i am driving my hand feels like it is squeezing the wheel. On and off numbness on my right cheek. also had the food getting stuck repeat but also cleared after 2 weeks… Then my right wrist had pain to where i could not right or move it, was said to be nerve entrapments (resolved within 3 weeks)

Went back to Rheumy and again all blood work came back fine. (i did not try and do anything from 2017 to 2019)

During this time, my leg is a constant problem from weakness, pain etc. My memory is horrible and i now jumble my words alot. It just seems like i had odd symptoms that seem to last a few weeks and then just disappear. Should i press to have MRI and head and upper spine? Or does this not sound like ms

Hi Sleep,

ok…a lot to consider there…the thing with MS is that it can be hard to diagnose…but it also mimics other conditions…like the ones you`ve been tested for.

It took a hell of a long time to get my diagnosis of Spinal PPMS…22 years!

My neuro did tests for very rare conditions that can cause paraplegia…which is what I have.

From some of your terminology, can I ask if you dont live in UK…USA? If so then your medical guys work differently to NHS.

Maybe you need a full discussion with them to acertain what is going on…there`s something not right.

Boudsx.

Yes i live in Us the problem i am having is that the doctors do not seem to look at the whole picture. I did not mention in first post i am 45. So where i live a rheumatologist handles arthritis, lupus lymes and neurologist would handle conditions of nerves. Do you think i should persue the neurologist i really just want to figure out what is going on and feel better. Do you thing ms is a possibility with my symptoms as i know its not typicallly just seems like everything comes and then just goes except my weakness feeling

Hi, do you insurance which would cover seeing different consultants?

We have a body called Musculoskeletal…they look for problems with back pain.

It could be the reason for your issues.
