right leg feels cold all the time to me but warm on outside when touched feels tingly to under knee and my big toe and the one next to it have the feeling of been numb different to my other foot to touch

doc has prescribed gabapentin dont seem to be doing anything for all these problems and says if thing get worse then she would book another mri,

with this been a second attack does this not mean something as reading on mcdonald criteria it says you need a second attack

pls help as not understanding this

The McDonald criteria for MS are dissemination in time (= at least two attacks) and dissemination in space (= affecting at least two areas of the central nervous system).

The fact that this is your second attack means that you satisfy the dissemination in time criterion.

The dissemination in space criterion can be assessed by a neurologist and/or by looking at MRI. If you have at least one lesion in at least two of the areas typical of MS (= three brain areas and the spinal cord), then you satisfy this criterion too and would probably be diagnosed with MS although there are other conditions that need to be ruled out first.

I do not understand why your doctor (GP? neuro?) isn’t sending you for another MRI or isn’t diagnosing you with MS. Why would it have to get worse?? If you are talking about a GP and you are in the UK, then you need to insist on seeing an MS specialist neuro. If you are talking about a neuro, then you need to be asking exactly how you stand vs the McDonald criteria and why the neuro is not confirming a diagnosis. Sounds very strange to me :frowning:

well im in the uk and last time i saw my own doc she says that if things get worse she will send for another mri, which the symptoms have travelled further down my legs just the other day i felt as though my legs were going to give way under me they seemed so heavy but i managed to get through the day ,

i go to see my gp again tomorrow morning to let her know how tabs are helping and if there is anything more happening
