Hi all, I’m just after some advice if possible please. I’ve been experiencing symptoms for ten years now and investigations started up again 6 months ago now. I have lesions on my brain from ten years ago and in that time have developed ten more, all in the right areas for Ms (according my my neuro) my spine is clear and I’ve just had my lumbar puncture results back and all normal. It’s not likely I’ll get a diagnosis any time soon now is it as I don’t meet the criteria!? I know something isn’t right with my body and my neuro agreed my lesions and symptoms are all pointing to MS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Very new and no expert. But i was told i needed to meet time and space criteria.
Meet space two parts of the brain.
But not time, as they cannot agree if both lesions happened at the same time.
I am having a lumber next week if positive no longer need to meet time is my understanding

It is a total minefield and different consultants tend to say different things.
I thought you would meet time and space criteria? 10 years ago did they say they are ms type lesions?
Yeah ten years ago and all MS type lesions and showing demyelination on my brain. I’ve got an appointment with my neurologist on Thursday now as I pay privately. The NHS was taking too long so had to pay myself.

I would take a copy of the criteria with you.
I have my lumber on Monday, really frightened to have it.
I had spinal blocks when i had the girls, so maybe its similar.

I’ve had 2 lumbar punctures now and honestly they’re not that bad. Very similar to a spinal block and just make sure you’ve been given enough anaesthetic. I didn’t even get too bad a headache this time around. Good luck with it! X

Ms really is not like anything else i know.
My brain scans have been to the regional meeting for them to take a look.
For other illnesses you just have it or you don’t.
With MS it almost seems like a “vote” to say if you do.
