Hi, I am thinking about starting Lemtrada for my treatment but I am a little unsure because reading good and bad reviews, I have a heart defect so I am scared to start a treatment that is going to affect the heart, I have a phone call tomorrow from the MS nurse to discuss my choice but just trying to get as much reviews on it before I fully decide to start that treatment or what the best one would be
Hello Jen,
I just want to say that you are in my thoughts as you face this dilemma of deciding to take this medicine or not. I’m praying for you.

I’m afraid it’s always a matter of weighing up risks and benefits with these things.
Furthermore, any risk associated with medication has to be weighed against the large risks of the damage that uncontrolled aggressive RRMS can do. Knowing the damage it has done to me has made my own DMD choices pretty easy.
With aggressive MS, the only show in town is trying to keep a lid on it. Once permanent damage is done, there’s no fixing it, so the objective is to stop disabling relapses happening in the first place.
It is good that you are discussing your specific concerns with the MS nurse.
It is important that you are confident with your choice, and the medics do sometimes need reminding that they are treating the whole patient, not just their specialist disease.
