Hi Everyone. I've had MS since 1999

I didn’t know I had MS. I was told I’d had a TIA. I couldn’t play squash (remember that!!) as I was missing the ball. So I played football until 2010. I thought it was old age. I had a massive relapse in 2011. Lumbar Puncture said MS! Put in the HARRMS group. Have Tysabri by injection. Feel stable.

Anyhow. My Question! lol.
I’m in the ESA support group, but I’ve been offered a 3 to 4 month contract. 3 days a week. I feel up for it and the rate is very good.

How will this affect my being in the ESA support group. The daily rate (inside IR 35) is £315 per day.

Should I do it, or will it ruin everything? It’s taken month to get here.

What should I do?

Anyone have an idea? Thanks

Pete.

ESA Support Group means you don’t have to actively seek work but it doesn’t preclude you from applying for or getting work.

I’ve not worked for over a year but I did a couple of short-term contracts previously. Once when on ESA and the other after I’d been moved to support group. Obviously you won’t get ESA while working but when you end the employment you should get your previous designation back.

Thank You for your reply. Always good to hear from someone who has been through the same situation. My concern was, having been through the assessment, once I finish the short term contract I would be starting again.
Appreciate your guidance. Pete
