Great new film from Shift.ms

Hi Belinda

Sorry, I wan’t spying, I promise! The discussion came up on Google when we were doing some searching and thought I should pop my head in to respond to a few of the comments.

Yes, the difference in reaction here is really interesting. Perhaps age and difficulty relating to characters, maybe time living with MS, I’m not sure. Regardless, I hope it doesn’t put off other readers from viewing. We are very proud of Belong!

Thanks for your lovely supportive words about Shift.ms though - very much appreciated. If there were ever to be a part 3 (no plans) I also hope Dave continues in his ways (perhaps without the sunglasses). He has certainly gained a keen female fan base!

Thanks for your response

George

I agree with Belinda. If I’d known you were reading the posts I would have been much better mannered!

We are a cynical old lot on here and if I had to make a film about MS I wouldn’t have the faintest idea where to start and then would no doubt make a complete hash of it… which you didn’t.

Well done you for making it,

Pat x

Hi Greg, I couldn’t disagee more with most of the rather strong comments below! Maybe its because I’m under 40, I don’t know but I found this fantastic and so representative my experience of my MS … scary, sad but also funny in parts too! I love, the characters, the content and the great uncut 360 degree filming. While MS is of course negative there is no doubt in my case it has opened my eyes to things I can do, goals I can set for myself and achieve and a way of healthy living I would never have done without my diagnosis. I’m sharing this with my family - thanks so much for doing this. Brilliant - well done Shift!

I agree with Gerard, I enjoyed it including the 360 degree filming!

I don’t think people should tone down their comments just because George is/was listening, he has shown he is interested in accurate feedback, like anyone who embarks on a creative project and who knows there will be differing opinions. I agree that most people who cope well with what is happening to them because of MS, have developed a sense of humour and an outlook on life that looks for the positives but doesn’t belittle the difficulties. Maybe we are older on this site, and we know what we have achieved and are philosophical about what we can still do and want to do, whereas the people in the film have that experience still to come.

And another pat on the back re Shift MS - keep up the good work (no I don’t mean to sound patronising!). I think it helps all these groups to know there are others out there supporting each other and looking for ways to help.
