Gilenya and back pain

I just started on Gilenya 5 days ago and I’m now on day 4 of really bad back pain.

My question is: What kind of back pain do you get as a side effect? As it listed as common.

I’d be really happy if my back pain is just the ‘normal’ pain I get from time to time. If it’s not how long will it last? Will it ever ease up?

Hi.I’ve been taking Gilenya for nearly 5 years now.I have had frequent problems with back pain and sciatica before starting Gilenya and since.Personally I don’t think that the back pain that I’ve had since taking Gilenya is related to this drug.

You should contact your neuro to see what he/she thinks.

I saw the link for the support group on another thread the other day and joined up.

Conclusion is the back pain is probably just coincidence and occurred too soon after starting gilenya to be a side effect.

I’m still pretty new at this ms stuff and it’s still such a novelty that someone actually takes note of my symptoms, instead of basically saying; thats nice thanks for telling us, keep it till it’s better attitude.
