So I’ve bit the bullet and booked a private consultation with Dr Mills at the Sefton suite in Crosby… I am going on Wednesday.
Does anyone know what he is like ? How long is a consultation usually as my appointment is at 7pm
I have a letter from my gp and I have printed out my scan report as they had forgotten to enclose that
… would he be able to somehow access the actual scan ? If needed.
I’m not sure what to expect with an initial appointment and feeling quite anxious - I know it’s very unlikely to get a diagnosis on Wednesday although I’m sure it will help in knowing if we are barking up the right tree (which I’m pretty sure the more I read this forum) that we are x
Hi Lolly…lovely name!
I went private for my 1st consult with a neuro…waaaaay back in 1999. I paid £200, because there was a10 month wait on NHS, to see the same chap I saw after that on NHS.
He will take a full history, examine you and may give some indication on what he thinks may be the issue…or he may prefer to do tests first.
If you wish to then go NHS, make sure he knows, as tests are very expensive.
This is what I did.
All the best,
Boudsx
Thank you - I’m a little nervous now as it’s tomorrow - don’t want him to think I’m crackers however the last 5 months of research makes me think that this may just be a missing piece of my jigsaw
x
Hope the appointment goes well today.
Let us know yeh?

Thank you PBMS - it was yesterday evening it was very quick - he did say he would expect me to have varied eye movements if it were Ms but my balance is bad (the test with eyes closed I fall over
)- my reflexes were seemingly ok - however I feel quite well at the moment so not sure if that would make a difference.
he is repeating the scan at Walton and will go from there - depending on that scan it will then be bloods and probably lumbar puncture - so none the wiser which I expected as I know that it is a long road of assessments etc.
Thank you for asking it means a lot
