Cautionary tale.

slow growing lipoma on back - g p wanted it scanned - saw consultant - m r i scan - told there was a cancer in the lipoma/sarcoma - advised to have it removed - told it would be a 5 hour op and there my be some residual nerve damage.

Request for a biopsy and second opinion rejected - made a fuss - finally biopsy done at another hospital - no cancerous cells found. So I will live with the unsightly lump - better than having surgery and likely nerve damage.

The ‘moral’ from this is always trust your gut instinct and don’t be brow beaten by the medics.

Oh wow and it could so easily have gone the other way.
