Coming up to my 5 years of having ms and i havent had 1 full month of being ok since dx.Met neuro and asked for more baclofen but he said i didnt need them.Im on month 6 of Tysabri and no change but alot more colds.Im barely able to walk using my stick, walk so slowly. Not exercising like i did previous years.Would love to leave the house more but not able.Thats my rant over. jimmy
Hi jimmy, sorry to hear how rotten life is at the mo…well more than a mo I now!
I dont have any personal knowledge of Tysabri to speak of, but I thought it was supposed to help you cope better. I daresay others will be able to advise you better on that one.
One thing I do know a fair bit about, is using wheelchairs when walking is so difficult that you cant go and join in the world!
Have you thought about getting one? It doesnt have to be forever, just for when things are really bad.
Have you someone to push you, or could you manage to self propel, or perhaps a leccy chair might be helpful, eh?
pollx
Have you thought about seeking a more effective therapy from your doctor? I was on Tysabri for 4 years and deteriorated hugely in that time. I wish I had gone on one of the drugs that stop deterioration when I was in a better state than I am now. But I reckon stopping my MS now is better than getting even worse.
Sewingchick,im goin to stick with tysabri for a while and see how it goes. Its supposed to be the best.I was on fingolimod for 2years but neuro said it wasnt working.I dont know of any other drugs that stop deteriortion so i will try tysabri for the mo.id love to try hsct sometime. All i want is the same as you, stop my ms from getting worse. Thanks jimmy
Hi poll,i did have a bit of a rant but really its my own fault.Im goin to my doctor monday and getting this sorted.Im walking so slow that a woman i know who is 82 walked faster than me.I have nobody to wheel me around so it would be self propelled chair. My leg strength is fine, its just they dont want to move. Thanks poll, Jimmy
