I am considering bariatric surgery. I have RRMS and I am on Tecfidera. I am considering the bariatric surgery so that I can reduce the burden of the excess weight on my body, hopefully making life easier in my body generally, and particularly in relation to any progression of MS. The thing that worries me most is that bariatric surgery causes malabsorption of vitamins and protein, and does that also mean medication? I feel like it would be bad news for MS but wanted to hear from other people. Has anyone else had bariatric surgery, or chosen not to have it, or have you got any considerations or advice about it? Thanks!
