Avatar !!! I must be stupid.

Hi All ive been tying to put and avatar on my profile, to no avail, i copied and pasted the ulr and it kept coming back ulr incorrect. How can it be when i pasted the thing, what am i doing wrong? Any advice would be graifully recieved . Thanks Barbara.xx
