just a question has anybody had a reasonable experience and been tested or just been transferred from incapacity to ESA all i have heard about is bad experiences just wondering thank you all

I have! I’ve just come on here to share my news as I’ve only heard bad stories too!

I got sent a 20 PAGE “Limited Capability for Work Questionnaire” (ESA50 03/11) back in August. I’d been dreading this, especially as the MS has affected my right hand to the point I can’t write any more, so I had fun trying to find someone to help me fill the form out! Citizens Advice wouldn’t help (did keep me n hold for total of 1.5 hours and charged me £16 for that though, nice!) JobCentre grudgingly agreed to help me fill the form in (but wouldn’t help with the answers, just write!)

Eventually I met a Parish Nurse who was attached to a local church who, when she heard about my struggle with this form, said she’d fill it in with me! It took her 2.5 hours in total (ironic - JobCentre had allowed just 1 hour, and it was THEIR form?!!) We started with a prayer (anybody faced with a 20 page form like this may wish to start the same way!!) We trawled through the pages and ended with a prayer of thanks the biro had lasted, and a cup of tea!

That form was posted on 14th August. I heard nothing until 14th December, 4 months later, when I received a letter anticipating a fight - and was startled to read my benefits have been changed to ESA and I’d been placed straight in the Support group “because your illness or disability restricts the possibility of working.”

I am still in shock! So to answer your question I have just been transferred from incapacity to ESA - miracles do happen!
