Ive been on Avonex for about 6 years now and am really having trouble injecting each week.
I’m thinking about going on Fingolimod, but am worried about the possible side effects.
Is anyone taking this drug, and what experiences are you having?

I’ve been taking Fingolimod (Gilenya) for about 6 months now and I’ve had no problems. I’ve had no side effects at all and no relapses. This is the best I’ve felt since being diagnosed. I was previously injecting with Rebif. While on Rebit I relapsed twice, the injections left me with painful blotches and the side effects were horrible. The Gilenya is MUCH better.
My only worry is the increased risk of infections due to my immune system being artificially suppressed. It’s always at the back of my mind but so far I’ve been ok. I’ve had one cold which was just that; a cold. It didn’t turn into anything and cleared up in a few days.
