I’m after some advice please…
I’m 27 with rrms, was diagnosed 11 years ago and although (touch wood) my ms is in remission, has been for the past 9 years…I feel I have been affected mentally more than physically and I am struggling right now. I am very badly cognitively impaired and finding a job is proving difficult, is there anybody else out there in a similar situation? If so how have you managed it?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated,
thank you
hi mcmillar
ask your ms nurse for advice because there may be something on offer where you live.
cognitive problems are really bad for the self esteem.
are you going to the job centre?
is there anything they can do to help?
ask your gp if he/she knows of any organisations who can help.
eg MIND
please don’t let it get you stressed out.

Hi, I went through a severe relapse and was very badly cognitively impaired. What cognitive impairements do you have? Is it for example memory, fatigue?
xx
lenney
my fatigue makes my memory worse.
my age doesn’t help the memory.
lots of my friends and my glamorous sister forget stuff too.
so at least i have a good excuse for my shocking memory.
Hi Carole,
I have been going to the job centre and seeing a disability employment advisor who has told me about certain programmes to go on etc but it’s a waiting game for me, I’ve been waiting a long time now.
One thing that gets to me is that the last two jobs I had, I had to leave due to MS…to look at me you would never know but as soon as I need to use a phone or remember anything, that’s when it shows and people think there is nothing wrong with me and loose patience.
Thank you for responding

Hi Lenny
my cognitive impairements involve:
terrible short term memory
been unable to retain information
getting a over load sensation where I can’t concentrate on anything
working out simple queries…
my last job involved having to remember product codes and I was simply unable to do it.
Thank you for responding
