You should always be given a prescription for something like Omeprazole to protect your stomach when taking oral steroids. If you’re not (assuming you do decide to take them) then you should ask for it.

I was prescribed steroids, potassium and a diuretic. Nothing to protect my stomach. My mother was prescribed steroids some years after I was. She was given Omeprazole, or something similar. Maybe the advice on prescriptions was changed in the years since I took steroids. Either way, I should have been given advice on how to take the steroids.
