need some friends

I think you might be new Fugazi29 and if so hello & welcome.

Yes, you have a right and have every right to be annoyed. I hope you’re coping ok.

Is your username anything to do with the band by any chance?

Hi thanks for taking the time to reply to my little rant,

Im doing fine thanks though im shopping for black trousers as we speak and velcro trainers ( not f I can help it), Had my big visit yesterday with Neurologist number 2, looks like I have had this for about 7 years, now all the pieces seem to fit my brain lesions aren’t that bad, a couple of nasties but the rest are small, but the spinal ones are a bit more challenging, due to age symptoms etc he is still going with PPMS but I will finally be monitored properly, he was surprised when I said I didnt have a MS nurse…I now have a MS nurse, so all good apart from the fact I cant do laces buttons and the like though to be honest my eye sights to blurry to notice !!

Well spotted Fugazi is Marillions difficult second Album ( by the way their new album is out in September) fraid Im bit of a fan. I cant tell you what it means as its quite rude but sums up my walking etc quite nicely.

All the very best Chris

Ah, that makes sense. I actually meant the band Fugazi. I have a single album of theirs as my ex used to have it and I loved this song:

I have to admit I’ve not listened to much Marillion, m y name is down to the fact I’m a huge Nine Inch Nails fan & taught pole dance in my spare time. I miss it like crazy and still keep an eye on what my old students are up to - one just came 3rd in a competition where she’d gone in for a higher level than initially planned, so I still get to be a bit proud

Yes, shoes are tough, apart from old converse, I mainly wear Hotter shoes not - comfort & lightweight yes, hot - no chance, especially when you consider some of the heels I’ve parted with! But seriously, I’ve banned myself from shoes as the ones I’ve got are such good quality and the soles look unmarked, I just had to get the red polish to cover up the scuffs on one pair

Talk more soon I’m sure.

Hi All,

I am just curious what was the first thing that started you on this long road?mine first started with a burning feeling down the back of my left leg.

Ken

A fellow rocker cool, I love Johnny Cash’s version of Hurt stunning video,

I will listen to the Fugazi song later thanks for the link

I’m a huge Marillion fan, go to conventions etc ( sad) I’m so sorry you cant pole dance any more but teaching and advising can be very fulfilling, Its wonderful to hear your student doing well. The neurologists I saw suggested that because I kept fit this would help on the journey ahead, I hope that you too have found this. I also get missing sport as I practised and taught Ju Jitsu for over 30 years ( along with a couple of other styles) I miss it like mad I would like to wear my Gi one more time.

Re shoes, well Im a 50 year old Rocker ( who cant type) and ex martial artist, fashion was never high on the agenda !!! In fact most of my working life the government supplied my clothes albeit Khaki and then black,

I do like a nice comfy trainer ( Christ I’m so middle aged)!!!

keep well

Chris

Hi Winker, Im still new to all this but my left arm started burning last December but I have lost virtually all feeling and use …still gets me out of the decorating.( apparently due to my spinal lesion).

I love this forum as for the first time I don’t feel like a malingering idiot.

I started with a numb patch on one leg, which was monitored by GPs, and cos it increased in size, sent me to a neuro, that was all many moons ago now.

the rest is history … as they say.

My first introduction to the PPMS exclusive club - was loss of use of left side , slurred speech, double incontinence. l looked as if l had suffered a stroke. Even side of face was dropped. l was 34 - and 2months pregnant. That was nearly 35yrs ago. l kept falling down - several times a day. And l had only just got over Shingles - which l have had another two times since.

My first symptom was Le Hermittes sign, which is like an electric shock running from your neck down your back, this was followed by total loss of vision, luckily it didn’t last too long! This was all way back when I was 14, I’m 64 now! It was all out down to migraine at the time.

Hi to all of you new members, and those of you who remember me. Life’s been a bit hectic and will continue like this for a couple of months yet so I haven’t been here for a while. I hope you’re all keeping well. Although I haven’t visited I miss reading how you’re all doing, hopefully once my life slows down I’ll keep in touch a bit better.

Take care.
