Kath, hope you doing ok. I definitely found this forum helpful.
Kirsty, I have emailed the ms society branch here for guidance but the contact is on annual leave till the 20th. Thats what you get for being diagnosed right in the middle of the easter break
I’ll need to phone my gp for guidance.
Thinking about investing in a “I’m not drunk, I have MS” t-shirt. Might be more effective than any meds they can give me right now.
I’ve got a meeting with MS nurse next week. I have also got a referral in for physio to help with balance issues but no date set for that now. I never realised that they have to send away for the meds to be delivered, think my phonecall today has sped things up by a couple of weeks as they have put the order in now. If you had blood tests with your GP recently be sure to mention that as they like to check everything is ok with liver, kidneys etc before starting. The nurse i spoke to was very nice and helpful. I’m going onto ticfedera, Kirsty did they say what you have been prescribed? Read about ticfedera and there appears to be alot of side effects. Has anyone else reading this on it and how did it affect them?
Hi. MS nurse appointment was really helpful and she talked me through how I might feel and dealing with going back to work. I’m not on any meds. Got a GP appointment this week to discuss my MS and how we will manage it.
Glad you found it helpful. I’ve written down all my questions and there is plently of them for my appointment on Friday. How have your work been with this whole process? Are you back yet.
Hi, my work have been fantastic and I’m returning very gradually - I want to get back faster than my head will allow! They have sent off the forms for occupational health to come and see me and give us some advice.
I’m feeling so much better at the moment - almost symptom free and back to my ‘normal’ self.
How are you? let me know how your MS Nurse apt goes.
I am the same, i want to get back to doing something as being off is beginning to bore me. Nurse was very informative and helpful, recommends i allow more time off to fully recover, i suffered a significant relapse and it can take anything from 6 months to up to two years to recover :s . Just need to work on balance now. Off to an event run by the ms society about living with the condition tomorrow - will see how i get on. Good to hear you’ve almost bounced back!
