I have posted many times about my fight to be placed in the support group. I waited over a year to go to tribunal and won in June, then to find I had been reassessed while waiting to go to tribunal so am back in the work related group. I have now put in a late appeal after screaming and swearing at the man from the local job centre plus…I am on contribution based and yes I will lose it next year if I do not get placed in this group. There is not a great deal I can do , and getting out of the house on my own being one of them…so fingers crossed jax

Has anyone received a letter yet saying that their ESA is going to stop?
This moring (Saturday) I received a letter from ATOS :o Requiring me to fill in a new ESA50. I am assuming (rightly or wrongly) that as I have been receiving contribution based ESA, (in the support group) for 11 months they are going to reassess me in the hope of finding me fit for work. Does anyone know whether you are regularly reassessed every 12 months? I am slowly reading through these help notes http://tinyurl.com/3g5j3h6 which may be of help to others V

They look like guidance notes to professional advisers - very helpful. Thanks for posting. Jane V

Hi
Has anybody had their Contribution Based ESA timelimited. if so what happens when it ends if you don’t qualify for income based?
Many thanks to all
Mines limited to October 2013 I was placed in WRAG!! after my interview with DWP I found it all very cynical by the way as the interviewer noted down I had limited mobility - he did say it would then be means tested after this date providing I didn’t win my appeal to be placed in the support group and if I did I would continue to get ESA. Pffft the whole thing stinks
Alas if you do not qualify for income based benefit the DWP expect you to go away and live on your own resources. You are still classed as getting ESA just not getting any money!!!
Is this how some ms’ers think? When/ if my body decides i can return to work, i will. People before profit? sorry i got bills to pay, like most if i can work i will!
i was on contribution based esa from incapacity benefit, they never told me it was for 12 months only, they stopped the esa without notice till i got the letter 5 days after i was due for a payment, it took them nearly 6 weeks to sort out the forms from sending me them to me sending them back, they sent them back to me as i only filled out the parts they told me too which was wrong, the lady at the job centre told me they cannot check forms as they dont know what they are looking at, by the 4th week, i went to the job centre and told them the esa dept said i could have the forms faxed through to the esa dept to get them to sort it out faster, so the lady faxed them thru 4 me, 45 mins later she gave me the confirmation letter saying they recieved the forms, a week later they said they never got the forms, so i asked someone to call me back the next day as i was angry n cryin my eyes out, to which they said yes they got my forms and it would take another 2 weeks before they will make a decision to see if im even entitled to esa, luckily i called them 2 days later and they said it would be backdated from the date i sent out the forms and i was to start getting income based esa, now im due for a atos assesment on the 9th for them to tell me if they will put me on jsa instead of esa as according to my forms i filled in im more than capable to do full time work, how the hell they got that im not sure, coz im using crutches, now both of them, im incontinent, i loose my balance, my speech goes bad and the migrainers had kicked off again, not to mention the bad tiredness, personality disorder n severe deppression, how the hell is a employer gona trust me to work for them with out me getting angry and knocking ppl out when they wind me up? coz my temper has gone really bad n it takes mum to talk me down from beatin the crap of someone…whos gona employ me till i get the help n new medications i need to calm me down?
My ESA stopped May 2012, I have been fighting for the support group since March 12 (appeal).
Been told my appeal weill go ahead around about August 13! I am having a reassessment Sometime. It was ment to be 4th Jan 13 but I have to have a home visit so for that I have to wait a extra 4 weeks! it is unreal how I am ment to just live of DLA while I wait for them all to stop fart assing about…
