work

i have been unable to go to work for the last 2 months as i have been to unwell. i found out today that although the owners are very understanding and help me out if i need it the manager does not think i will ever be fit enough to go back. sounds abit harsh you might think, questioned him on it today and he said he had said that to other staff members.

now at this point i would like to say how supportive my husband has been while i have been unwell extra help with the kids and the house and how he thinks i will get better in a little time.

the manager IS my husband and has been lying to me cheeky sod told him i would rather he told me straight what he thinks as i didn’t like hearing it from others.

Wow Rach; more than a stroppy employer. How he can put different hats on is beyond me. This is one instance where nepotism should be positive.

Of course you will be able to return to work; its early days and when you do get ‘Access to Work’ to help with any aids; Access to Work: get support if you have a disability or health condition: What Access to Work is - GOV.UK

Here’s a copy of the Equalities Act and the procedure your employers must do by Law to help you keep working; http://www.equalityhumanrights.com/legal-and-policy/equality-act/.

Good luck

What an impossible position for your husband! I really feel for him :frowning:

Tbh, of course he’s going to tell you that he thinks you’re going to get better even if he doesn’t actually think that - he’s doing his best to be supportive. OK, maybe it’s not the right approach in your eyes, but at least he’s trying! Sounds like you need to have a proper talk - get everything out in the open and agree the ground rules ongoing.

I hope you prove him wrong btw, and get back to work soon
