Hi, I’m going to Finland next month for a few days and I wondered if anyone has experience of wearing their FES while they go through Customs? I’m a bit worried that they might react badly to someone with a box and wires attached to their belt! Would it be a good idea to get a letter from someone to explain what it is?

This should do the trick.
This letter can be used by clinicians and patients to assist them when getting through security when travelling with FES. It includes advice for patients and a letter for them to present to security outlining their FES device.

I dunno owt about FES machines and customs, but twice customs staff have tried to take my cloth bag, which contains my wee bag and catheter tubing, off my wheelchair arm and I’ve had to tell them it’s attached to my belly!!!
Luckily they didn’t require me to show them!
But, yeh, I can imagine wires would alarm them!
