Hi there, I’ve been recently diagnosed at age 51.to me my symptoms don’t fit I’ve got daily intermittent tingling on my left side of face and right buttock I lose power in my leg for 40 /60seconds up then disappear happens up to 25 times a day for the last 3 month’s mri showed lesions on left side of brain and down spine a little… Does anyone else have similar symptoms? As I think it’s not ms

It sounds normal MS symptoms to me. Have they explained to you why they think it is MS. It is not possible to be absolutely sure with MS, but with symptoms, history and an MRI they can be pretty sure. Do you have a next appointment when you can raise this with the MS nurse or consultant? I have had MS for about 20 years and it causes a variety of symptoms in different people. The good news is with the disease modifying drugs that are now available the prognosis is good.

Thanks savvyowl, I’ve seen a consultant, who said my symptoms seem more like seizures, but going by my lumbar puncture and notes about my mri(she hadn’t actually seen it) that, that was enough evidence to put me in the ms category. Because these symptoms have been happening every day for 3 months, it made me question the diagnosis.
