You should find that when you “Write new message” you can type the username into the “To” box. It will autofill with the available user name options as you type.
Once you’ve sent someone a message you should see their username as clickable. Click on their name to see their profile and you’ll get an “Add to buddies” link.
We’ll be adding to the buddies functionality when budget and developer time allows. We also plan to reinstate the “Show me posts by this user” feature - again when budget and developer time allows.
