There is something about September

Hi Fellow members

Is it just me or have any one of you getting some cold/flu and/or another virus particularly in the autumn? Not mentioning rescheduling either Covid jab or seasonal flu one every year.

Mid last September I ended up with nasty gastric flu. I have put it down to Copaxone side effect as it’s being listed. I could not work out how I would get it otherwise. I’ve only had a Fish and Chips for locals but otherwise I’ve been very careful still wearing face mask everywhere. I do live on my own and did not have any visitors since pre-covid with one exception. This nasty had an argument with my MS and there it was pseudo-relapse, taking me

This year, just week after I return from visiting my mum in Europe a couple weeks ago, and one day before my covid jab I’ve woken up with bunged up nose, sneezing crazy and watering eyes, not mentioning my tinnitus gone to deafening volume already the night before. It seemed to me like a decent cold, contacted 119 just to verify that I’m not fit to get my jab and asked for cancellation. Even this time my MS has had objections, not as bad as year ago. This time it was more like the cold and MS were sharing my body and mind. Really weird, some days I had cold symptoms another day MS symptoms or 50:50. Though I feel find today, it could be deceiving and will be resting over the weekend.

And end of September the year before last I’ve gone through very fatigue period over a month long sometimes around October-November. I do not recall, neither my diary, that I have had any cold or other medical issues. At that time, I’ve gone to have some acupuncture to improve my energy level for several sessions.

September is such a beautiful month full of beautiful colours, sun pleasantly warm, but it seems to me I’m not allowed “in”, not entirely for the whole month.

Does anyone experiencing something similar, have you noticed that there is a month in a year you would like to skip, if you could?

Wishing you well

Best regards

No, it’s just you!! :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Only joking! In reality, the reason things like flu jabs roll out this time of year is that Autumn/Winter is the time of greatest susceptibility / spreading, so it’s no coincidence.

A month …. I have felt this past couple of years I have tried to dodge every month :mask:.

Despite all the jabs my husband caught Covid in July, I was really concerned I would catch it but I didn’t :woman_shrugging:t2:
Now heading into autumn/winter there are reminders for more boosters and flu jabs… skip those months then.

So I have ruled out summer, autumn and winter…

Spring

“Fresher’s flu” we call it. Schools and universities start back, and there’s a perfect breeding ground for bugs to spread around. Colds are always common coinciding with the new term.
