I am currently under going diagnosis. I had my first consultation and I mentioned to the consultant that ive had some or the symptoms however he said it was not related as I hadnt had the symptoms severe where they lasted consistently for a few days. I have had intermittent dizziness and tingling. Should these be dismissed as not related? Ive had labrynthitis in 2021 but im not sure if this is considered a clinical episode.
When I was first diagnosed I was convinced I never had any symptoms before, but the lumbar puncture revealed that I must’ve had several relapses. With hindsight I can probably see things going right back to my childhood that would’ve counted as a relapse. My consultant didn’t think that any of the previous relapses should’ve been taken into account as a diagnostic tool because I hadn’t noticed them, so it was initially clinically isolated syndrome diagnosed and he told me that if I had another relapse of a different of symptom in a different part of my body it would be a different story.
I think that the nervous system can have so many hiccups for so many different reasons that most of them are irrelevant. The consultant also said that if they analysed the brain and spinal cord of bodies in the mortuary they would probably find the majority of them had plaques but the people would never have noticed anything.
