supporting my son with MS

Hi, I have supported my son who has secondary progressive MS (I think, there seems to be an overlap) he recently had a fall which has left him unable to walk at all. He is still in hospital after 7 weeks, currently receiving physio but not improving. He is distraught and crys everyday. He is 38 and wants it all to end…if you know what I mean. He feels he should be able to walk again but professionals and myself discuss with him that this might not be the case. He has a lot of professional support but he does not want to accept this is his life now, he dosent want the adaptions in his flat but he is unable to do anything without them and carers. On the carers point, do I apply for continuing health care or will his OT and physio in hospital do that? We have discussed direct payments and PAs rather than carers but ultimately he needs so much support. I have visited him every day for hours on end as I feel its my job to do so. I am off work sick to do this but I am emotionally drained as I never know the right things to say to him every day. He also has Aspergers so sharing a ward with strangers also has an impact on his mental health. We have asked for him to be moved to a side ward but there just is not the availability. How do i support him when I cant change anything for him
