Hi, I’m on high dose steroids for five days. Its day two today. As its weekend id like a couple of glasses of wine tonight and tomorrow…do you think this is okay? Just might relax me and help me sleep? Xxx ---

Hi I drunk after my first dose and it didn’t seem to affect me. But I come from a family that think it is appropriate to bring me beer in hospital! But to be honest, after the second and 3rd dose I didn’t feel very well, food and drink weren’t appealing at all. I don’t think I’ve helped you at all! Best of luck! ---

Lisa - I have had a drink before on steroids - not like a session, but a few glasses I am sure should be fine (well I was OK) - Enjoy xx And anon - what kind of family do you come from? Wont bring you beer in hospital? that is outrageous!! ---

Hello there,and Summer is coming.I’ve had more steroids than an American cyclist over the years, but didn’t bother boozing until the course was over, purely so I didn’t piddle more than I needed to,so they stayed in me for as long as possible.Nobody told me to do this,but I wanted to get the maximum benefit. Hi Lisalou I’ve had high dose steroids a couple of times - felt completely jittery and like I was on fast-forward when I was on them. Didn’t even think of drinking - too out of it already. So please post and say how you felt after a couple of glasses of wine - and how you felt the next day. Would be fascinating to know if wine has a relaxing effect and if you have to pay for it later. Think you may be ok at the start - I did have a few glasses of vino after the 1st couple of nights but after that I had a bit of nausea which put me off drink and food, but it will pass…good luck… ---

i take it your on oaral steroids and not iv. I have drunk on both. (dont tell the hospital hehe) iv was fine and saying dont tell the hospital i think they could smell it on me after my 3+hour disapering act. But i did find on oral steroids it made me feal very sick very quickly but all people are diffrent so you might be fine. Give it a go im sure you will find out one way or another james ---

Thanks all…i shall be sampling some tonight, purely for medicinal purposes and it will of course be red wine as I believe it has healing qualities 😛 haha! I think I have drunk on them before if I’m honest but can’t quiteremember! X x x
