Sleep Spasm Bed Wedge and knee support

I’m going to buy wedge to raise my upper body in the hope it may reduce the spasms that keep waking me. Has anyone got experience and advice on which one, size relative to my height, depth at highest etc. I may need knee wedge too. I’ve resisted it so far because I don’t like not being able to turn on my side. Any advice would be greatly received.

the last MRI i had i was pleasantly surprised to be given a knee wedge which made an amazing difference.

Hi

Have you thought about asking for some advice / help from occupational therapy? In my area we have a community neuro team that comprises of physiotherapists, OT, MS nurse, Parkinson’s nurse and used to have a specialist continence nurse. If you don’t have such a multidisciplinary team, try your GP and see if there’s an OT to whom you could be referred for help. I can imagine there are many different types of support wedge and you’d need to get the right one(s) for your needs and body type.

Thanks Carole£ I have now ordered one to try.Faffing about like I do gets me nowhere!

Hi Sue I have an MS specialist physio who is fantastic. She has suggested I get an OT out to assess me and I’m waiting, waiting, waiting, if you know what I mean. She also suggested I consider Botox injections. I’ve ordered a wedge now and will see how I get on with it before chasing up the OT or considering Botox. Meds work if I take enough to become a zombie which is unacceptable for me.

Hi Carole, thanks for your reply. I have now ordered one to try, faffing about it’s getting me nowhere!
