Should I go to the GP?

Hi

Im new to this site and any help and advice would be greatly received , so thankyou so much in advance.

Im 27 years old and have an underactive thyroid. I have had this since age 19. It is treated and Im told that I am in the normal range.

I suffer with exhaustion and this has been ongoing for some time. This I also notice is a symtom of MS, I also have aches and pains and feel really run down . I was thinking along the lines of chronic fatigue syndrome but I am also worried about MS. The other reason i worry about MS is because i have poor balance , but im not sure if thats clumsiness or something to worry about?

My hand sometimes tremors also and can be painful when like this (usually causing pain in my little finger and going down my wrist)

should I go to the Gp to request a referal to see a neurologist or do i need an MRI scan?, or do you need to see a neurologist to then refer for the mri scan. I am quite worried and also suffer anxiety

thanks again

Hello skyscraper and welcome

I’m loving all these screen names we pick

I can understand your concerns but I’m afraid to say your symptoms, could be caused by any number of conditions.

The first thing you need to be doing, is making an appointment to see your gp. The fact that you say you are tired all the time, could be contributing/aggravating how you are feeling.

Of course feel free to come on here and chat about how you feel and what’s worrying you. There are lot’s of lovely people on here happy to offer support.

Take care,

Thankyou.

I have had a number of blood tests that have shown nothing really other than having Gilberts syndrome also which is just elevated billirubin (apparently this can cause tiredness in some people but is more of a finding than anything to be to concerned about)

Ive seen the GP numerous times regarding feeling tired but seem to be going around and around in circles.

I have a little boy with autism so they seem to heap alot of the reasons im tired onto that, yes it is tiring but this is a more than that (plus has been long standing since before my son was born , he is 2)

Hello again skyscraper

Looking after your little boy with autism, must be really hard work for you…do you have support?

I’m sure you know your own body. If you think its a neuro problem, then speak to your gp and request a referral to the neurologist.

Good luck, I hope things get sorted for you
